Wondering what the 2017 hair trends are going to be? We’re so happy we have the lovely hair stylist, Carla Orsi, of Christiaan Salon to do a little hair style forecasting for us. Personally, we’re in love with the “Bronde” trend. And no, that isn’t blonde with an Asian accent; it’s a gorgeous shade in between the two staple hair colors. But, we’ll let Carla explain…

Hello and Happy New Year!

1. Blended Natural Shades

This year, color is big! Say good bye to ombre and 50 shades of grey hair! Although, we are still loving the unkempt roots look, we are now transitioning to more natural shades, which should resemble the same color we were running around with on our heads as kids. This trend keeps our natural base color with gradual dimension throughout. This means sun-kissed, light, medium, and dark variations, instead of just harsh roots with blonde tips.

2. Bronde

“Bronde” is still seen as classic and subtle color stemming from complementary shades of brown and blonde, Jennifer Lopez has perfected this look year after year, but we are now seeing many bright blondes following that path!

3. Long Straight Sexy Hair

Sorry, but just when you finally perfected the curling iron glam wave, 2017 is replacing it with long straight hair that we’ve seen throughout the various decades. We all remember our first Conair flat iron and how excited we were to flatten our frizzy locks to reveal sleek, smooth hair. Somehow, it would magically appear three inches longer, LOL! This year, the red carpet is showing Rapunzel-style, long, straight hair. Many of them have human hair extensions, but the poker straight style can be created for all lengths too! (Just please make sure you are using a heat protector to prevent split ends!

4. The Dark Side

Last, but not least, we enter the dark side of the hair world. The darker the better when it comes to brunettes this year! Hues resembling dark chocolate, not black, reflect the most light and give off a healthy, radiant glow. This sleek and shiny look is also seen styled and as soaking wet tresses, like you just walked out of the Blue Lagoon and onto the sandy beach. Straight root and ends, with bent flat iron pieces, finished with shiny oil and/or pomade. Layering both products is ideal, but it will definitely weight down girls with fine-stranded hair.

I hope you’ve found a new potential hair style for you! Cheers to the New Year!
