Happy New Year Hauties! The Divine Cocktailer, Jean Marie Manning, has dreamed up a gorgeous drink to help us ring in 2017. This rum cocktail is good looking and super yummy; just look at that tall, sexy, glass of refreshing fun! Feel free even to enjoy it on Sunday for New Year’s brunch.

This drink is a real stunner, especially when placed in a flute. It’s the perfect alternative for those looking to cheers with something other than champagne, providing a festive toast to welcome 2017!

There are no regrets with this cocktail; tasty and light, the Campari cuts anything that would make it too sweet. The cocktail uses Papa’s Pilar rum, which is owned by the Hemingway Family and is named after a novel by this great writers of the 20th century.

THE SUN ALSO RISES

Ingredients

  • 1 oz. Papa’s Pilar Blonde Rum
  • 1/2 oz. Papa’s Pilar Dark Rum
  • 1/2 oz. Campari
  • Pineapple Juice
  • Dash of Orange Juice

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a shaker over ice and shake.
  2. Ice a champagne flute in the freezer and then strain this tasty cocktail over ice.
  3. Garnish with an orange pinwheel or twist!
  4. Most importantly, have a happy and healthy 2017!
