Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate! We can’t say it enough. In the summer or winter, sloughing off old skin cells is essential. Why? When dead, dry cells build up at the surface lots of bad things can happen. Blackheads and other unsightly growths have an easier time of laying claim to their territory. Old skin creates a barrier that prevents moisturizers and treatments from being effective. Exfoliation encourages new skin cells to flourish, resulting in a brighter and more even skin tone. Lastly, reducing the build-up of older skin reduces the look of fine lines. Bingo, we’re sold!

So, how does one exfoliate? There are countless of products on the market, from the isles of the drug store to med spas to Neiman Marcus, the choices are endless. Here are two of our favorites to get your entire face glowing!

Exfoliators

Sara Happ – The Lip Scrub

Sweet and rough- just how we like it! 😉 Sara Happ The Lip Scrub comes in flavors like caramel latte and midnight blueberry. The tasty sugar scrub leaves us licking our lips and wanting more! Jess loves to keep it in the shower for an easy application. Apply, scrub, and rinse away! Only soft oils remain, leaving a well-circulated and soft pucker! Just be careful you don’t eat it. It’s that good!

SKINCEUTICALS – MICRO- EXFOLIATING SCRUB

Kim was introduced to this product by the girls at Avalon Medical Spa. This is an extremely easy product to use, as you only have to apply during your bedtime skincare routine twice a week. Add a small amount to your damp face and rub it into your skin for about a minute. Let the mild exfoliating gel and biomedic microbead technology work its magic and rinse.

Bye Bye old skin!  It is such a nice feeling to be confident enough to go bare skin when you are in your mid forties!
