Ogling the luxury end of real estate is one of our guilty pleasures! So, we checked in with Allison Mazer, one of Boston’s top real estate agents, for a peek at a couple of luxury properties she is listing this fall.

Many would agree Marlborough Street is one of the most coveted addresses in Boston. Old town charm combined with modern luxury make this classic Boston street in the heart of the Back Bay one for which real estate junkies pine. Ms. Mazer, an agent at Gibson Sotheby’s, has two listings located on this historic street; one for sale and one for rent.

We wanted to get a closer look at the quintessential Boston properties. So, Ms. Mazer and her poised assistant, Jennifer Collotta, gave us a little tour of both the multi-million dollar units located at 179 Marlborough Street.

First, let’s take a stroll through the three bedroom, two and a half bath property for sale. Priced at $2.45 million, the 1,822 square foot unit is a mega value at $1345.00 per square foot.

Glowing from natural sunlight, the unit has a lovely flow from the front sitting room, through the entryway sitting area, toward the back dining room and dainty study. So, what makes this parlor-level unit a steal? A newly renovated kitchen and bathrooms, viking appliances, an outdoor space for entertaining, and direct access to parking all bolster the value of this three-bedroom property.

Now, we move upstairs to the nine room rental unit, which includes three bedrooms and four and a half baths. How many beans do you need to rent the unit per month? How does $10K a month sound? While ten thousand a month might blow most of our monthly budgets, there is a growing percentage of the local Boston and foreign population who can easily sign that monthly check. And, many would gladly and quickly do it, considering the private roof deck and dazzling view of the Back Bay that come with the unit. Oh, there’s also a head house on the roof deck. So, get ready to pop champagne and flip filet mignon in the sunlit reflection of the John Hancock. 😉

Not only is there the roof deck, but also a second outdoor space. Inside the nearly 3,000 square feet, we found a smart and spacious chefs kitchen, walk-in closet, handsome fireplaces, and the type of details that give us that warm and fuzzy Boston feeling, like crown molding and paneling. But our absolute favorite detail? A colorful and spectacular skylight that had us tempted to set up a recliner, pour a little red wine, and gaze at all day. Seriously, we’re a sucker for such carefully handcrafted beauty!

Whoever rents the unit will never find themselves driving in a continuous loop in the Back Bay for parking. The unit comes with two deeded spots for the renter to enjoy! As you can see, the unit truly is spectacular.

Big warm hugs to Allison and Jennifer for showing us these two properties. We can’t wait to see where they will take us next!

Cheers!
